How To Uninstall zlibc On Ubuntu 14.04 LTS

To uninstall zlibc just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just zlibc

An on-fly auto-uncompressing C libraryUbuntu 14.04 LTSuniverse/libs0.9k-4.1
sudo apt-get remove zlibc

This will remove just the zlibc package itself.

Uninstall zlibc and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove zlibc

This will remove the zlibc package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for zlibc then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge zlibc

Or similarly, like this zlibc

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove zlibc
