How To Uninstall network-manager On Ubuntu 16.04 LTS

To uninstall network-manager just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just network-manager

network management framework (daemon and userspace tools)Ubuntu 16.04 LTSnet1.1.93-0ubuntu4
sudo apt-get remove network-manager

This will remove just the network-manager package itself.

Uninstall network-manager and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove network-manager

This will remove the network-manager package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for network-manager then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge network-manager

Or similarly, like this network-manager

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove network-manager
