How To Uninstall gconf2 On Ubuntu 16.10

To uninstall gconf2 just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just gconf2

GNOME configuration database system (support tools)Ubuntu 16.10libs3.2.6-3ubuntu7
sudo apt-get remove gconf2

This will remove just the gconf2 package itself.

Uninstall gconf2 and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove gconf2

This will remove the gconf2 package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for gconf2 then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge gconf2

Or similarly, like this gconf2

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove gconf2
